Back Off - Keep your distance

Just a Reminder to leave lots of room between vehicles on the highway and other roadways.

Most of the accidents I see are because someone was too close to someone else or traveling too fast and did not have enough time to react to slowing or stopping traffic.

I have always recommended 2 to 3 seconds between vehicles to allow safe reaction time.

Extra distance should be added in poor weather conditions along with lower speeds in general to make it a little safer for everybody on the road.

Drive safe, make sure everyone gets there.

There are lots of technologies being developed by the auto industry with the luxury cars being the first to benefit with sensors and alarms. For now, most people would need some after market gadget of some kind.

My uncle always tells me (because I tend to get too close) that if I can see their tires, then I will have enough room to go around them (when coming to a stop), but driving it's like 4 car lengths, right?

Very good advice for everyone.

Keep your distance PLEASE.

Pet owners should be very aware of drivers coming too fast, especially as many have their pet´s at the rear.

Put your warning lights on if you notice a driver coming too fast behind you, it usually wakes them up!

Good Post.Accidents are not the only cause of death on the road – so is road rage. Be patient, considerate and courteous. Respect one another and preserve the GIFT OF LIFE.A very practical method for checking if you are the correct distance from the car in front is to use the "Two Second Rule".

2-3 seconds is easier said than done, leaves a lot of space for other cars! Keeping aware of what is happening 2-3 cars in front of you is the best course of action but that does not help when the driver in front does something unpredictable
